Oscar Ready

Is everyone ready for tonight’s Oscar? I can’t wait to see the extravagant and captivating gowns that will be showcased by the female celebrities this year! The Oscar to me is not so much about the awards but more about the fashion and glamour on the red carpet. On the red carpet, the credits truly belong to all the designers who are at the forefront of the fashion industry, their elaborate behind-the-scene designing and planning that go into the making of this spectacular moment.

I wish to capture just a little of these top designers’ choices of fabric, color, silhouette and designs in my own dress collection.  I am especially inspired by the way these designers stitch together all the different components that go into creating the perfect head-to-toe red carpet look.  The dresses I have may not be couture but they are inspired by red-carpet looks that will make you feel and look Oscar ready for any special events you may be attending.

This Sleeveless Tie-Neck Pleated Dress in vanilla by Michael Kors below is one of my favorite cocktail dresses.  A combination of a silk, halter-neck bodice and a soft, tiered- lace skirt, this dress is stunning in its own right.  The tie neck and subtle pleats on the bodice are details that are both current and classic.  Paired with a pair of nude heels, you’ll be a perfect vision of feminine elegance.

Every girl needs a black dress.  I can’t agree more especially after I saw this black dress by MICHAEL Michael Kors.  Available at Bloomingdales, The Embellished Dress is tastefully adorned with faux pearls and rhinestones.   The cut is flattering on most figures, thanks to the elastic cinch around the waist.  I especially like the sheer raglan sleeves, which I think lend a touch of sophistication to this already stylish and glamorous dress.  With an evening bag and a pair of black heels, you are ready to sparkle throughout the evening.
