I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday. Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it and Happy April Fool’s to the rest of you who have been tricked or are about to get tricked. 😛
A few days ago, I had a chance to visit a Banana Republic store while on a trip. I am surprised by how bright and colorful the store looks with its new spring collection. Here are some pieces that caught my interest.
The floral shift dress in daisy yellow is a perfect dress for a Sunday brunch, baby shower and even for the office. Its more fitted at the top, with an empire waist and a little flared out at the bottom. I especially like the bold and colorful flower prints against the crisp white color. Don’t you love the mix of bright yellow and deep violet accents? In the picture, it is paired with a denim jacket to give it a more casual and fun feel.
The Eyelet 5.5′ shorts are especially great for people like me who aren’t comfortable wearing shorts that are any shorter than 4′. Most of the longer-length shorts are bermudas which simply aren’t flattering on my short frame. So, I am glad to see these attractive navy blue eyelet shorts which oddly make me think of pebbles by a river, with a little sheen to them too. High waisted, they are a fitted at the waist but with a flattering, slight a-line, through the hip and thighs.
Last but not least, is the Botanical Print Fit-and-Flare Maxi Dress. I truly like the lively floral prints against a subtle striped texturing of the pink fabric. I also like the more fitted and structured upper body which is flattering on most body types. The flutter hem also has a slight high-low hem which adds fluidity to the drape of the dress. Best of all, you don’t need to wear your strapless bra with this maxi dress! If a maxi dress seems too overwhelming but you like the print, consider getting the Botanical Print Sleeveless Ruffle-neck shirt blouse in the same print. It’s featured next to the maxi dress in the picture above. I especially love the pairing of deep army green color against the pink floral print.
What do you think about these pieces from Banana Republic?
